Universities Allied for Essential Medicines

We advocate access, innovation, and empowerment in order to change UC Berkeley licensing policies, ensuring that medicines and medical technologies developed using Berkeley research are more accessible to people in developing countries. Universities Allied for Essential Medicines aims to promote access to medicine in impoverished countries by: changing norms around academic patenting/ licensing, ensuring university medical research meets the needs of people worldwide, and empowering students to respond to the access and innovation crisis.
