Undergraduate Composers Club

CREATIVE ARTS - MUSIC AND PERFORMANCE - PERFORMING ARTS

This Undergraduate Composers Club exists to inspire a community of composers and performers on the UC Berkeley campus. It is a community built upon the sharing of compositions, of orchestrations, and above all the performance and demonstration of students’ works by their peers. Though it began in the music department and was built upon the idea of connecting music majors/minors to one another, it is not limited as such. The Undergraduate Composers Club is open to all who wish to create, share and perform the music of their peers; and to do so without any limitation in regard to genre or experience. We are a historical club that was founded in 2005 and have been operating in unofficial capacity for many years. With the full support of the Music Department, we offer the unique opportunity for undergraduate composers to hear their works performed by their peers by hosting a concert at least once a semester in either Hertz Hall or Morrison Hall. During the school year, we also invite experienced composers and musicians to present guest lectures.
