Student Assistance for Public Health at Berkeley

RESEARCH - MEDICAL / HEALTHCARE

STAPH at Berkeley is a graduate student organization that serves state & local health agencies by providing surge capacity during outbreaks and other public health emergencies, and assistance with routine, non-emergency activities. Student Assistance for Public Health at Berkeley (STAPH at Berkeley) is an official student organization at UC Berkeley that provides graduate students the opportunity to gather hands-on experience and training, as well as build their professional networks, in the field of public health. Through partnerships with state and local health agencies located throughout the Bay Area, our members are able to gain and utilize valuable skills in the various specialties of public health, including emergency response, analytical research, community health, environmental health, public health nutrition, health and social behavior, and health policy. We aim to provide two main services to local and state health agencies: 1) surge capacity during disease outbreaks and other public health emergencies, and 2) assistance with routine, non-emergency activities such as data management and analysis. This organization will further enhance the educational, career, and professional development of public health graduate students at UC Berkeley and directly serve the public health community in California.
