Steel Bridge Competition Team

The Steel Bridge team is the UC Berkeley team that will be competing in the National Student Steel Bridge Competition sponsored by American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). We design, fabricate, and compete with a bridge that is generally around 20ft long. We teach new members how to use industry standard software such as AutoCAD, SAP2000, and SolidWorks as we design our bridge in the fall. We also train students how to use all the machinery in the Davis welding shop and give opportunities to get trained in the Etcheverry machine shop, where students can learn to use the mills and lathes. In the spring we fabricate the bridge and compete in our regional and national competitions. For Fall 2023, please join us 6:30-7:30pm on Mondays and 6:30-7:30pm on Thursdays in Davis Hall.
