Power of a Princess
HUMANITIES / SOCIAL SCIENCES - ACTIVISM
Power of a Princess ("POP") is a student-run organization that aims to spread magic to children in need around the Bay area and beyond. Our team of princes, princesses, superheroes, and Jedi provides storytelling, crafts, sing-alongs, Q&As with characters, and much more to bring a magical experience to children in hospitals, low-income schools, or other in need groups free of charge. Character interactions give sick or underserved children a chance to forget their worries and focus on simply being a kid.
Alongside sparking joy in children around the Bay Area, Power of a Princess brings our members together into a tight-knit community of Berkeley students that truly feels like a family. Our Ohana unites under our love of Disney and our desire to help kids in need. To join our club, you do not have to have a background in acting or the arts, although it is preferred, and you do not have to look a certain way (no one looks like the unrealistic body standards of Disney princesses)––we are dedicated to bringing a diverse, kind group of people together to do what they are passionate about! We will provide you with all necessary gear (i.e. wigs, costumes, etc.) to become your character at no cost.
We hope you will join our Ohana and look forward to reading your applications. Hakuna Matata!
