Performance Studies Research Collective
HUMANITIES / SOCIAL SCIENCES - RESEARCH - CREATIVE ARTS
The Performance Studies Research Collective (PSRC) is a graduate student group which works in conjunction with the Department of Theater, Dance, and Performance Studies to facilitate critical discussion of performance in culture and society. The PSRC is involved in the organization of events, including lectures, panel discussions, live performances, and film and media screenings throughout the year. Such events seek to foster deeper connections between the field of performance studies and other disciplines on the campus. To this end, the group works regularly with graduate students and faculty in the Departments of African American Studies, Asian American Studies, Comparative Literature, Ethnic Studies, Film and Media Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, and Rhetoric, to name just a few; as well as with research centers at Cal including the Arts Research Center, the Berkeley Center for New Media, the Center for Race & Gender, the Center for the Study of Sexual Cultures, and the Gender Equity Resource Center.
