Medicine Through Art & Performance

MEDICAL / HEALTHCARE - SCIENCES

To create safespace for conversations on medical stories/issues through art & performance and build an inspiring medical community. Through artistic events, we aim to highlight diverse health perspectives and fundraise for relevant health nonprofits. Fall 2023 Club Application Form: Club Application Form Fall 2023 Officer Application Form: Officer Application Form Both forms are due Friday, September 22nd, 2023, if past deadline, contact lunarubymsk@gmail.com Whether you're a prehealth student or someone interested in medical topics, all of our live have been affected by physical and mental health, whether it's been directly or from people we are close with. We hope through this club, we can express and highlight our individual perspectives regarding topics of healthcare/medicine. As someone who considers myself a passionate artist who composes music and creates oil paintings, I, and, (I strongly believe) many others, understand the power that the artistic brush wields to express feelings and even stories that are often so hard to explain, simply with just words. Of course, this “artistic brush” can take shape in any form (i.e. different art mediums, poetry, music, dance..etc), and the artistic form only requires the creativity and emotion of the artist themselves. And moreover, as someone who is passionate in not only sharing my story/ideas, but also listening to and discovering others’ stories, and their medical inspirations, I thought, what better way to share them than by expressing it through an artistic form?* And so here I am, eager to present, “Medicine Through Art & Performances”, an organization that I have created in hopes of building a community of students who are able to express their stories/medical passions and find more inspiration through conversations and interactions with artwork about medical health. Further, MTAP aims to communicate medical stories and issues through art and performing arts through a collaborative community of medicine/health interested individuals. Through events, we hope to not only highlight different perspectives of medicine through art, but also fundraise to donate to relevant health nonprofits.
