Live Poets Society

LPS meets to read and discuss original works of poetry and prose as well as works by current and historical writers selected by our members. Together, we hope to develop an understanding of the history of poetry as well as ourselves as creative writers. LPS meets to share original works of poetry and prose written by our members and works by current and historical writers selected by members. For each work, we hold an in-depth discussion covering the differing interpretations of the work, the context of the piece in relation to its author, and constructive critiques of the piece. LPS holds events such as workshops and monthly open-mics for poetry and original songs. We hope to create an open, encouraging community for poets and readers of all backgrounds and identities. Through comparing our interpretations of poetry, we also aim to understand ourselves as creative writers.
