Latinx Social Work Caucus

The purpose of the Latinx Social Work Caucus (LSWC) is to build connections to ensure students and faculty feel a sense of belonging and community. LSWC is committed to closing the opportunity gap in higher education and supporting the personal and professional well-being of its members. The Caucus strives to unite the efforts of social welfare students who desire and are committed to working towards improving the quality of life of Latinx people and their communities. We enact our social justice values through political engagement and community building. The objectives of the Caucus are to: work together to fill the gaps in social work education while looking into the community needs and bringing forth advocacy for the diverse needs of Latinx graduate students. empower Latinx students to find avenues for change within the community. create partnerships with faculty, students, and social work professionals to bring Latinx voices into the classrooms and curriculum. enrich the educational experience of Latinx students’ who are committed to serving the Latinx community.
