Labor Coach Program

The Labor Coach Program works with the Asian Health Services to provide support and interpretation services for mothers during their labor and deliveries. Labor Coaches have the unique opportunity to develop personal relationships with their patients, for whom they are on-call during the last month of the patient's pregnancy. We work with limited English proficiency patients who are usually giving birth for the first time in the US. The Labor Coach Program is great for those with a soft spot for babies, multi-lingual skills, and a desire to work closely with the OB-GYN hospital staff. We currently connect with Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese speaking patients. Through this program, Labor Coaches have the potential to make a great impact in reducing the stress and pain of women, as well as share the excitement and immense joy at welcoming a new life to the world.
