Italian Society at Berkeley

The Italian Society at Berkeley was founded in 1999 by a group of UC Berkeley graduate students, with the goal of spreading the understanding of Italian culture, by promoting many of its aspects (tradition in the arts, history, and lifestyle). To promote its goals, the ISB promotes events such as exhibitions, symposia, music, theater, film and food festivals revolving around Italian Culture. All ISB activities are open to people interested in discover these different aspects of Italian culture and tradition. The ISB has a certain number of so-called Active Members, who are directly involved in organizing the ISB activities. Past members have also an important role in giving suggestion to the current active members. Any student, staff or faculty member of UC Berkeley may become an active member; you don't have to be Italian! You just need good will, commitment and passion. ISB is also open to people that are not affiliated to UC Berkeley, who can join the organization as associate members. (Formerly known as Italian International Students Association aka IISA)
