Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children

MEDICAL / HEALTHCARE - RESEARCH

As the FIMRC chapter in Berkeley, we strive to accomplish our global health mission by fundraising for medical projects, coordinating volunteer travel to our clinic sites, raising public health awareness, and providing service in our direct community. The Foundation for the International Medical Relief of Children (FIMRC) is dedicated to improving the lives of children worldwide by providing medical support and health education. As its primary mission, FIMRC establishes and maintains pediatric medical clinics in underserved regions. This includes staffing the clinic with local physicians and nurses; hosting international volunteers at its clinic sites; and raising funds for medical equipment and supplies. FIMRC also supports existing medical facilities with funding and volunteer staffing. FIMRC at Berkeley strives to accomplish those goals in a way that pertains to us, that is, by: Fundraising for the construction of pediatric clinics in areas currently lacking a reliable source for healthcare. Directly influence the health of children by encouraging and supporting individuals and groups who desire to travel to medically underserved areas of the world. Encourage future health leaders to become involved in our purpose by recognizing their achievements.
