Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated founded on January 13th, 1913 on the campus of Howard University, is a public service organization based on the principles of sisterhood, scholarship, and service; committed to the constructive development of its members and to service of the Black community. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Kappa Chapter was chartered on the campus of the University of California, Berkeley on February 21, 1921. It is the first historically Black Greek Letter Organization at the University of California, Berkeley, and the first historically Black sorority chartered west of the Rocky Mountains. For more than 100 years, this public service organization has served this campus, the Bay Area, and the state of California.
