Cloud at California
TECHNOLOGY AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP - DATA AND COMPUTING
To offer UC Berkeley students of all backgrounds meaningful experiences with modern-day cloud technologies in both a classroom and real-world setting and to build the presence of cloud engineering within the computer science community.
Cloud at California (CLAC) is a UC Berkeley-based technology development and education group that aims to build and support the next generation of cloud engineers through a combination of internal education programs and experience-based learning.
CLAC is the first student organization of its kind that aims to bridge the gap between undergraduates and capable cloud engineers, while also providing a valuable service to companies around the nation. CLAC consulting and development services include, but are not limited to: cloud architecture, migration, security, and overall strategy. With a team of diverse students, with backgrounds that range from traditional computer science to bioengineering and data science, CLAC consulting provides a unique and cost-effective service to companies large and small.
In addition to providing services unparalleled in the Bay Area cloud community, CLAC offers practical cloud experiences not offered through traditional university courses via a free internal education program. In order to bridge this gap, cohorts are guided through the original cloud curriculum. At the culmination of the course, students are prepared for their cloud certification, which is also funded by CLAC. Following this certification and completion of the course, alumni go on to join CLAC Development/Consulting, CLAC Research & Exploration, or apply their new skills in the industry.
