Catalyzed learning through customizable peer education and professional development creating an interdisciplinary experience for future biologists, researchers, and healthcare workers. At Catalyst, we prioritize community building alongside professional development for students with an interest or passion in the biological field. Weekly modules are dedicated to various topics such as surgery, astrobiology, coding, public health, and mental health to expose members to hands-on skill-building. Members will have a chance to lead, learn and customize their own education within Catalyst. Our hope is to expand members' horizons while preparing for careers in medicine, veterinary medicine, dentistry, research, data analysis, and other biology occupations. Modules are designed by and for members to allow for the exploration of new interests. Additionally, meetings may include guest speakers from diverse STEM professions. Topics that we may explore include but are not limited to technology, current research, grant writing, and psychology. Catalyst is also very community and social-based to create a sense of inclusion in the large Berkeley community. Socials, academic support, and mentorship will be easily accessible to all members.
