Cal Veterans Group
DATA AND COMPUTING - ENGINEERING - SOCIAL
The Cal Veterans Group (CVG) was created in 2004 by a UC Berkeley student veteran looking for a way to bring together military veterans on campus, reach out to returning vets across the community, and provide resources and mentorship for future students.
Currently, we engage in all of this work plus more. From philanthropic activities, outreach to local community colleges, and advocacy on legislation pertaining to veterans, we serve to become a beacon for vets hopeful of gaining access to and succeeding in higher education.
The Group is a student organization led by undergraduate student veterans. We usually hold meetings every two weeks during the Fall and Spring semesters, and encourage as many veterans as possible to be involved! During official meetings we invite representatives to give presentations on topics ranging from veteran’s advocacy to job recruitment.
Joining and becoming involved with the Cal Veterans Group is a great opportunity to expand your professional and social networks! Veteran alumni are great contacts whether you aspire to attend graduate school, or hit the ground running in the job market following graduation. Additionally, we throw social events like Tailgates (on Cal football game days), or just hang out!
Our Facebook page is our primary means of communication. Here you will be kept up-to-date with group happenings!
