BOAA is Cal's premier animal rights organization! We take political action for animals and create a community for activists at Berkeley. The Berkeley Organization for Animal Advocacy (BOAA) is Cal's premier animal justice organization! Join us if you're an animal lover, life-long vegan, or anywhere in between. We are completely inclusive and love any students who want to change the world, undergraduate or graduate! Our vision is of a world where all individuals are safe, happy, and free. We host community events, do political outreach, and hold non-violent demonstrations to create social change. In the past we've lobbied at the Berkeley City Council, passed a local Animal Sentience Resolution, and hosted panels on intersectionality between animal rights and other issues. In addition to taking action for animals, we frequently host solidarity events with labor groups, houseless communities, and food justice organizations on-campus. Factory farming and animal oppression affects the non-human world, but also low-income communities, people of color, and the health and culture of our society. We stand in firm solidarity with other social justice groups and are dedicated to total liberation for humans and animals alike. Join us in 2024!
