ASUC Office of Senator Andrea Jimenez
ASUC Office of Senator Andrea Jimenez
Our first vision for the upcoming semester is to begin discussions about how we can ensure proper undocumented student representation within the ASUC by adding an elected representative for that community, similar to the transfer representative. We will be collaborating with the Latinx Caucus to pursue this goal.
We will be working with the Marina Orth Foundation in helping recruit Latin American students for internship opportunities in public service in Latin America. This will entail frequent meetings with their foundation and workshops for interested students.
Our office will be collaborating with Cal in the Capitol to host career and development workshops for students interested in interning in Washington DC, in the Public Service industry, or just applying for Cal in the Capitol.
Our office will be partnering with the California Common Cause to increase voter participation on campus for students of color.
Our office, in collaboration with ASUC Senators Torres Murray and Massuh, as well as Transfer Representative Tigue, will be hosting a Latine Heritage Month Event in collaboration with Latine RSO’s on campus.
Our office will also be aiding efforts to reestablish the Latinx Community Resource Center through frequent check-ins with Lucha4LSRC.
